A Little Art Exhibiton

I'm going to be honest, Sunday nights are not my favourite time of the week. Especially at this time of the year; its dark, cold and usually raining (thanks Bristol!) and Sunday night blues seem to creep in.

Not this Sunday.

My friend Iona happens to be a very talented photographer. She very modestly never mentioned anything about her work being exhibited, but rang me up this morning asking if I wanted to go.

How could I say no to a little Sunday night escapism?!

We both headed down Park Street to the waterfront. Clear night and no rain in sight - happy days.

The Exhibition was held off the beaten track in a bar called The Looking glass

And here were my favourite pieces...

Frogs on a skateboard - Awesome

We both found the horse meat piece a tad too creepy to handle...

Iona bent down to pick the painting up off the floor before she realised that the painter was trying to be witty!

We both agreed that Ryan gosling would be a more appropriate choice!

No reason for this photo other than I liked the golden elephant stamp
Saving the best till last, obviously. Iona's wonderful photos:

These were my favourites...

Beautiful, I know.

Anyway a fabulous Sunday evening with a bit of culture. win win.

Exeter

A few days ago I escaped Bristol for the day to go to Exeter. Now I would never normally do this but my friend, Harriet, explained that her sister needed to go and contemplate whether it should be one of her University options for next year. I had never been so jumped at the chance to check it out.

After an hour or so on the M5 we arrived, and so did the first day of Spring!

Harriet and I left Eleanor to gander around the Campus while we explored the town...

The beautiful Cathedral was sadly under reconstruction

But we had a wander inside

After our legs had turned into lead and our tummies were rumbling we headed towards a lunch spot in the sun. Sadly for us our usual choice of mussels on the Cote Brasserie menu were sold out, so we headed to All Bar One.

Eleanor finished her tour early and came to join us in the town. She had some fantastic news -  Exeter University was going to be her No.1 choice. Yipeee!

The Bath Half

Now don't get too excited, or impressed or whatever thoughts are running through your head right now - it wasn't me running in the Bath Half!

Yesterday my wonderful friend Emma decided to run 13 miles for CoppaFeel (a breast cancer awareness charity) dressed as a giant boob and everything! I couldn't miss this for the world...

Me and Iona headed towards Bath on Sunday to witness this extraordinary act of selflessness, because lets be honest, not many of us would be willing to walk that far let alone run it in a boob outfit!

Arriving slightly early to see Emma reach the last stretch, Iona and I decided to check out Bath, finding ourselves heading towards The Holbourne Museum.
Iona welcoming me into her humble abode!
At around 1pm we decided it was high time to go out and stand in the cold to wait and spot Emma finish the race, after all freezing temperatures are nothing in comparison to 13 bloody miles!
The costumes we witnessed while waiting were incredible.

Looking gooood and surprisingly not too sweaty!
We finally thought we saw Emma race round the corner.... but sadly no it was a man running for CoppaFeel and wearing 4 BOOBS! Yes you heard me right.
And then, we finally saw Emma...
She was so speedy we almost missed her...
Speedy gonzales

Finishing the race in under two and half hours raising £298.75 for the charity. I am literally so impressed, proud and in awe of her or anyone else who does it.

Congratulations,

Paris Part 2

Right so I feel as though I should explain myself for taking so long to post part 2 of my Parisian adventure. It was simply down to technical difficulties (boring I know, lets not divulge).

Day 2 in Paris was rather snowy and so we felt that trekking around the sites should be saved until the last day.

Day 3 was magical and we took full advantage of it.

Starting the day off with walking a million steps up the Eiffel Tower - ok maybe not a million but close enough...

The success shot!

And then onto the Louvre.....

When we exited after practically getting lost in the Ancient Egyptian section it was the perfect evening

yeah i know right....unreal.

Mills then decided she wanted a ride on the ferris wheel....

Serena and I being the spoil sports that we are, fancied a bit of Ladurée  action instead...

Towards the Arc de Triomphe
Ladurée :

The pastries were breathtaking

A Mermaid themed bar.... who could say no?!

Ok it's fair to say we wanted it all, however we came around to reason and settled for a box of macaroons - I went for my favourite pistachio, and then was persuaded by Serena to go for a couple of rose flavoured ones, to mix it up you see! Yum yum.

All in all Paris did us proud.

This photo says it all doesn't it?!!
