London in May is blooming beautiful

Hasn't this year's blossom been extra especially special?! Personally I feel that after the winter we've had, the smallest hint of sunshine and the trees have all taken a huge sigh of relief and gone,  "VOILÀ HERE ARE MY FLOWERS."

Strangely enough, the sun, the trees and the blossom, have all made me feel particularly floral. My mind has thus far wandered to all the fun floral events that are happening in London over the coming month or so. From daytime events to restaurant pop-ups to club nights, here are a few that have tickled my taste buds....

With all the flowers blooming and trees in leaf, my thoughts wandered to the biggest and most famous botanical fair in the world: The RHS Chelsea Flower Show (21-25 May).
Attracting the very best garden designers, growers and flower arrangers, plus a bevy of celebrities and the world’s press, this year will be all the more special as it’s the Show’s centenary. Sadly it's a ticketed event so head to their website here ASAP to get one...

I understand that tickets are a rare find for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, so if you find yourself without, or if you are lucky enough to have tickets and feel that the Flower Show will not satisfy your floral fetishes, then the Chelsea In Bloom event is a must (20 May-25 May).

Chelsea In Bloom echoes the Chelsea Flower Show's botanical activity on the streets of SW3. The event sees top local retailers compete by creating floral displays in and around their shops. Take a free rickshaw ride around the entrants before stopping off at the champagne pop-up for a glass of bubbly. On Saturday 25th the The Duke of York Square Market will combine with this event to produce many a floral feast. To see what's happening from day to day, click here.

Continuing with the floral vibe, I will turn my head to beauty and fashion... 

OVer the next couple of weeks the Anthropologie gallery, on the Kings Road, will be transformed by uber-cool LA brand Royal Apothic, into an old-fashioned apothecary. The apothecary will offer floral scented products for the home and body as well as a limited edition fragrance to mark the centenary of the Chelsea Flower Show. 

The Duke of Yorks Square is feeling particularly summery at the moment,  with 20% off Banana Republic and the new and exclusive 'floral blowdry' at the Richard Ward Hair Salon there will be no stopping you. You might even be sat in between Kate Middleton and Elle Macpherson. Ok very unlikely, but a girl can dream...

Finally I have found a few fun evening events that have blossomed for May...

The Botanist will be hosting a tasty little pop-up in the middle of Sloane Square. The pop-up will be from May 22nd to May 25th and will be running an elegant Oyster and Joseph Perrier Champagne Bar.

If Champagne and oysters aren't really your thing, then you must try out Min Jiang, a stunning Chinese restaurant that boasts breathtaking views over Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and London's skyline. I mention this restaurant in particular, not because of its yummy food or sensational views, but because its floral cocktails are to die-for.

Pretty great right? I sure it would be even more spectacular in the evening...

Now onto post-supper events. This doesn't follow the floral theme, however it seemed to good not to add. I have found out that at the end of this month, the top live music venue 606 Club on the Lots Road is celebrating 25 years . If you are a fan of jazz, blues, soul and R&B, head down from the 22 May to check out the host of bands that will be playing till the sun comes up. It shouldn't be missed.
