Turkey Part 1

I have always heard good things about Turkey. So as you can imagine I couldn't contain my excitement when I was invited to my friend, Lara's house for a few days next to the Aegean Sea.
I skipped very happily out of work last week and headed to Gatwick. After a 4 hour flight to Dalaman we were hit by the warm air as the plane doors opened - the holiday had started!
We drove out of the airport and hit the Turkish roads heading towards Datcha. 2 hours later we had arrived.
It was like nowhere I had ever been before
How gorgeous is this?!
After a spot of very competitive ping-pong (from the boys) and relaxing reading (from the girls) we were ravenous....
We headed into Knidos, an ancient Greek city full to the brim with ruins which looked out onto the point where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean

We went home feeling VERY cultural and VERY full of Turkish food. Time for a siesta?

At 8.30pm we climbed to the top of the windmill to watch the sun set listening to Wagner as our musical backing - very dramatic don't you know!
I was in heaven.
